Today’s Promise is 2 Corinthians 10:3-4:
“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds…”
Devotion:
One morning, in my one-on-one time with the Lord, He took me up into the second heaven and together, we looked down on the earth. Around the earth, I saw a layer of darkness. Around that, was another layer of golden light. Jesus told me the dark layer immediately surrounding the earth was the dominion of the devil and his agents. He told me that it was impossible to defeat the enemy from the earth, or even from his level of heaven. Then He pointed out the bright layer around the darkness and said, “This is the realm of the intercessors. The enemy can only be defeated by rising above the earthly and fighting from the third heaven. I understood immediately that this was why the church seems so ineffective today. Because it is. Believers are not being taught about spiritual warfare, and as a result, they don’t know to ascend into the Third Heaven to take hold of our spiritual weapons, which are mighty in God. In order get those weapons, we must be and remain in God. Brothers and Sisters, let us lay aside the things of the flesh and boldly pursue our all powerful God, that we might war from above and stand in victory.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, help me choose You over all, in Jesus’ name, that I might walk in Your Spirit and Power, crushing the enemy beneath my feet. Jesus, our Messiah has given me authority over all the power of the enemy. Help me exercise that authority over the spirits of darkness and bring glory and praise to Your Name. Amen.
