Today’s Promise is John 3:16 CJB:
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only and unique Son, so that everyone who trusts in him may have eternal life, instead of being utterly destroyed.”
Devotion:
This is the best promise of all. Some two-thousand years ago, God’s only Son stepped away from His heavenly throne to be born of a virgin in a lowly stable. He had created the entire universe, yet He didn’t think it beneath Him to become as one of his creations and walk among us. So great was His love for us that He gave up everything to be with us. To eat, sleep, laugh, and cry with us–and invite us to His heavenly home to live with Him forever. You can’t earn this invitation. You can only accept it.
Have you taken hold of the hand Jesus offers you?
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I accept the beautiful gift of Your Precious Son. Thank You, thank You, thank You, Jesus, for loving me so much! Fill me with Your Spirit, Lord, in Jesus’ name, that I may be more like You. Living like You. Giving like You … Loving like You! Amen.
