Blessings!
Today’s Promise is Psalm 34:1-3 NKJV:
“I will bless the Lord at all times;
His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
My soul shall make its boast in the Lord;
The humble shall hear of it and be glad.
Oh, magnify the Lord with me,
And let us exalt His name together.”
Devotion:
David wrote this song at the least likely of times. This renowned warrior king had just escaped death by acting like a madman. He certainly didn’t intend on looking like a fool when he set out. He intended to fight. He was carrying Goliath’s sword! But, God knew what was waiting for David, so He “touched” him, or at the very least, encouraged him to forget himself. You would think he would slink away in shame, but David knew God had just spared him his life, so pride was of little consequence. His praise resulted in God raising up an army for him. You know the rest of the story.
Praising God in the midst of trials doesn’t come naturally, but perhaps that is why it is so powerful. Choosing to exalt God instead of empowering the enemy not only strengthens our faith and activates our anointing, it does the same for those who witness it. Every word we speak has the potential to release God’s supernatural power in our lives and the lives of all who hear us. So, let us exalt His name together.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I believe the power of life and death lies in the words I choose. I also believe that You are sovereign and that all things work together for my good. Help me to act on my belief and speak only Your praise in all situations, that I might rise above my circumstances and encourage others to do the same in You. All to Your glory, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Have a victorious day in the Lord!
