Blessings!
Today’s Promise is Proverbs 1:23 CJB:
“Repent when I reprove — I will pour out my spirit to you, I will make my words known to you.”
Devotion:
No one likes to be corrected–especially by other people. But the truth is that the Holy Spirit works in us to hold each other accountable. Both to give and receive correction. It is vital to our spiritual growth that we receive correction with humility and ask the Lord to reveal the truth. When we are convicted by the Holy Spirit that we are operating outside of God’s will, it’s not because He loves to catch us messing up. It’s because we’ve strayed from His path, taking ourselves out of His blessing flow. Our Father wants to bless us. With each rebuke, He places a fork in the road ahead, giving us the opportunity to return to His path of blessing. Each time we exchange our pride for repentance, and return to His path, He pours more of His Spirit out on us, making us more aware of the detours ahead, and giving us the faith to stay on His path.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for loving me enough to correct me when I stray from You. Give me grace, Lord, in Jesus’ name, to submit to Your correction, that I may remain in Your blessing flow and walk with You continually. Amen.
Have a victorious day in the Lord!
