Today’s Promise is Revelation 3:20 NKJV:
“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.”
Devotion:
For years I thought this was an invitation to salvation. But Jesus wrote this promise to the church of Laodicea. The lukewarm church. This is a call to repentance and a deeper relationship with the Savior. So many people say the prayer of Salvation, but never allow Christ past the foyer of their hearts. Some go a little farther and allow Him sit in the pretty room reserved for guests. But this isn’t just an invitation to the Wedding Feast, it’s a proposal of marriage! Jesus wants to move in and make Himself at home in the most intimate parts of your heart. He wants to set your heart on fire! Will you open the door?
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I want to walk in Your presence every moment of every day. I want Your heart to be my heart. I want Your thoughts to be my thoughts. I want You to live in and through me. So, Lord, come on in, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
