Today’s Promise is John 5:24 NKJV:
“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.”
Devotion:
To believe in anything is to live it. I stick dried up seeds in the ground believing they will sprout, grow, and produce fruit. Seeing bare ground for days after planting doesn’t make me stop believing they will grow. I water them, weed them, and protect them just as I would a full-grown plant. That is faith. If we believe we are saved through Christ, we believe He has freed us from bondage to sin, allowing us to walk in love and obedience. Behaving as if the seed I plant is already bearing fruit, stimulates the seed buried in the dirt to sprout, break through the ground, and grow into a fruit-bearing plant. Let us also walk according to our faith, in love and obedience, that we may grow into fruit-bearing believers, and one day enjoy a reception in Heaven free from judgement.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I can say I believe in You, but please help me live out my faith, in Jesus’ name, proving it as a daily offering of thanks for Your precious gift of grace. Amen.
