“This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.”
Devotion:
I’ve come to realize that believing in God’s love, and receiving God’s love are very different things. Some of us have been trained up to believe that we are undeserving of anyone’s love, so it makes it even harder to believe such a perfect God could ever love us. Really love us. I pray for all of us, the wounded, who don’t know how to receive the love of our Father. I pray that His all powerful love will override the programming of our brains, saturate every atom of our beings, and cause us to surrender completely to His love, bringing transformation that nothing on earth can explain! For a gift is not a gift unless it is received. Amen, and Amen!
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I bind and rebuke the father of all lies in the mighty name of Jesus! I ask with all my heart, Lord, that You would grant us all the grace to truly receive Your love and the healing of our hearts that only Your love can bring. All to Your glory and praise, El Shaddai! Amen!
