Today’s Promise is John 15:9-10 NKJV:
“As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love. If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.”
Devotion:
Have you ever stopped to consider the implications of being loved by Jesus as the Father loved Him? God does not define love by the worlds standards. The Father called Jesus to leave His throne and go to the cross. To become a curse for all mankind, that we might live. True love is an obedient servant. It cares nothing for itself. It demands nothing in return. It never says, “What about me?” The ultimate picture of true love is the Cross. Are you willing to take up your cross?
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, please help me lose myself in You, in Jesus’ name. Help me to stop thinking of myself and focus on You and the people You have given me to love and care for. I know You will take care of me, so I don’t need to. I know that You will fight for me and justify me, so I don’t need to. Help me surrender completely to You, oh Lord. Amen.
