Today’s Promise is Luke 12:12 NKJV:
“For the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say.”
Devotion:
Being the Lord’s mouthpiece is nothing if not exciting. One thing you can always count on is that if God makes the appointment, He will also set the agenda! I have read many testimonies and experienced myself just how God keeps it fresh. We may spend many days preparing a message, only to have the Lord say as we approach the podium (or maybe the night before if we’re lucky) “That’s a very nice message you wrote, Dear One. But I’m going to have you speak about this . . .” Although I’m a bit of a control freak, and I hate being unprepared, I love it when that happens. I love it because it always comes with the power and passion of the Holy Spirit, it always hits its intended mark(s), and I never question whether I said the right thing, because it wasn’t me speaking.
I want to encourage you to be a willing participant in God’s agenda. Even if you’ve never spoken in public before. You can trust that if He calls you to the podium, He will give you the words to say. Be of good faith. I am praying for you!
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that You don’t call me to do what You will not equip me to accomplish. Grant me the strength to walk in obedience, that I might glorify You on earth as You are in Heaven, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
