Blessings!
Today’s Promise is Proverbs 21:23 NKJV:
“Whoever guards his mouth and tongue
Keeps his soul from troubles.”
Devotion:
Have you ever really listened to yourself? Often, when people are confronted about the things that come out of their mouths, they’ll say something like, “I can’t help it. That’s just who I am.”
There is power in the spoken word. It brought the world into existence and it has the power to shape reality. For ourselves and for others.
We need to remember that Jesus didn’t die to make us “just who we are,” but to make us who we were created to be. To make us more like Him.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, please go before me and make me mindful of Your presence when I speak. Don’t let me say anything I wouldn’t say in front of You, because You are ever present. Help me to weigh carefully every word, and speak only words that encourage, comfort, build up, or guide with love. In other words, Lord, please be my mouth, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
Have a victorious day in the Lord!
