Promise of the Day: What is Evil?

What is Evil?

Blessings!

Today’s Promise is Psalm 121:7-8 NKJV:

“The LORD shall preserve you from all evil;
He shall preserve your soul.
The LORD shall preserve your going out and your coming in
From this time forth, and even forevermore.”

What is Evil?

Devotion:

Does this promise mean that God will never let anything bad happen to me? When I was diagnosed with a tumor did that mean that God didn’t keep His promise? Not at all. If we are to experience the peace that passes understanding we must refrain from defining good and evil and take God at His Word. I don’t give the enemy credit for the transformation God brought to my life through that tumor. Yes, it was painful. Yes, it was scary. But you would not be reading this devotion today had I not gone through what I did. So, what was the evil the Lord preserved me from? The evil of losing my faith and turning my back on God because He didn’t conform to my perception of what was good and what was evil. To paraphrase Joseph, what the enemy meant for evil, God meant for good. To God be the glory, forever and ever, Amen!

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, please grant me more faith to trust in Your sovereignty, Your power, and Your plan for my life. Help me walk in Your Kingdom reality here and now, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Have a victorious day in the Lord!
