Blessings!
Today’s Promise is Psalm 119:105 NIV:
“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”
Devotion:
The word “lamp” here comes from a primitive root and bears the idea of both a freshly plowed furrow and fire. Specifically, how they glisten. And the word “feet” speaks specifically of feet in motion. Have you ever walked where there was no trail or road? In the dark?
As we step out in the name of Jesus into unfamiliar territory in a dark world, God’s Word goes before us, preparing a path, and uncovering hidden truths. It doesn’t just illuminate our way, it sets it ablaze like the pillar of fire went before Israel in the wilderness. We don’t need to fear the unknown, for Jesus is our Light.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for lighting the way for me. Help me keep my eyes on You and Your Word in my heart, in Jesus’ name, that Your Way may always be clear before me. Amen.
Have a victorious day in the Lord!
