Today’s Promise is Isaiah 60:1, 2 NKJV:
“Arise, shine;
For your light has come!
And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.
For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth,
And deep darkness the people;
But the Lord will arise over you,
And His glory will be seen upon you.”
Devotion:
Yes! Too many Christians are waiting for Christ’s return to arise and shine. But Jesus died and rose again to make this happen here and now. What purpose does light have if not to dispel the darkness? This is our calling. This is how the world will know that God is God. We are the light that leads the lost back home. Don’t wait until Jesus returns, because then it will be too late. Take hold of your birthright as sons and daughters of the Living God. Arise, and shine!
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for sending Your Son to light my way and Your Spirit to shine within me. Fill me, Lord, in Jesus’ name, that Your light may ever be seen in me. Guide my words and ways, that it may never dim. Amen.
