Today’s Promise is Psalm 4:3 NIV:
“Know that the LORD has set apart his faithful servant for himself;
the LORD hears when I call to him.”
Devotion:
Many call themselves “servants of God,” but what constitutes a faithful servant? Jesus tells us in Matthew 24, that the faithful servant is one who stays busy doing what He (Jesus) did on earth until He returns. Before He left, Jesus left the keys to His Kingdom in our care. He took back the authority Adam gave to Satan, and He returned it to us. Not so we could sit and wait for Him to come back and fix everything, but so we could increase what He began and prepare the earth for His glorious return. How can we do this? By spending time alone with Him, asking Him what He wants us to do, and then trusting Him to make it happen. Jesus himself said that He did only what He saw His Father in Heaven doing and said only what He heard His Father in Heaven saying. The true servants of God learn to do the same.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I give my all to You. All that I am, and all that I ever will be. All that I have, and all that I ever will have. Take it, Lord, and have Your way in my life. Help me glorify You, and do my part in furthering Your kingdom on earth, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Have a victorious day in the Lord!
