Today’s Promise is Matthew 4:19 NKJV:
Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
Devotion:
I love that Jesus didn’t say, “Go! Be fishers of men!” but, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” He has already created us to be exactly what we were meant to be. He has already created the good works that we are to walk in. We need not strive to find our place in the Kingdom. We need only to surrender our all to the Lord and seek only Him. By His Spirit He will bring us into the fullness of our true identity.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I don’t think I’m brave, or bold, or wise, or particularly charismatic. But You know who I really am. Thank You so much for drawing me closer to You, that I may be all You created me to be, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
