Today’s Promise is John 14:9-10 NIV:
Jesus answered: “Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you I do not speak on my own authority. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work.”
Devotion:
God wants to have that same intimacy with you that He has with His own Son. That’s what Jesus died for. When we make the Father our focus, we too will see things from His perspective. We too will do on earth what He does and speak what He speaks in Heaven. This is what we are called to. Will you answer the call? Will you know God?
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I want to know You. I want to see what You do and hear what You say. I want to glorify You on earth as You are in Heaven. Draw close to me, in Jesus’ name, as I draw close to You. Amen.
