Today’s Promise is Galatians 3:22 CJB:
“But Scripture has locked up everything under the control of sin, so that what was promised, being given through faith in Jesus Christ, might be given to those who believe.”
Devotion:
If the Scripture is the prison, Jesus Christ is the key. No one likes to be told they are doing wrong. But to be liberated from the bondage of sin, we must first know we are in bondage. That was the purpose of Scripture. The Holy Spirit, given to us through the blood of Christ, works with Scripture to remind us when we have missed the mark. Not to belittle us as some people would do, but to lift us up, that we might live.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, Thank You for giving me the key to freedom from sin. Grant me Your Spirit of Wisdom and Knowledge, in Jesus’ name, that I may not be led back into prison, and grant me Your Spirit of Faith, that I may stand on Your Grace when the tempter comes. Amen.
