Blessings!
Today’s Promise is Colossians 4:6 NKJV:
“Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.”
Devotion:
Most things taste better with salt. Even sweet things. But salt is also a preservative. Meat that was sacrificed to God had to first be treated with salt to stop the growth of yeast. And yeast, of course is symbolic of sin. When we stop to season our words with salt before letting them escape our mouths, we are stopping the enemy from using us as instruments of strife. We are seizing control from him and handing it over to the Holy Spirit. And, when we do this, He can speak words of life through us and into others, making life taste better for everyone and offering up a sweet fragrance to the One whose image we bear.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, please help me to bridle my tongue. Help me to surrender it to You, that You may use me to speak life into every conversation, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Have a victorious day in the Lord!
Rebecca
