Blessings!
Today’s Promise is Job 13:15, 16 NKJV:
“Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him.
Even so, I will defend my own ways before Him.
He also shall be my salvation,
For a hypocrite could not come before Him.”
Devotion:
Job trusted God with His life. He could do this because he knew Him. In fact, Job was so confident in His relationship with God, that he knew he could trust God to tell him if he had hidden sin that had brought God’s judgment against him.
We are not as upright as Job, but God wants this level of intimacy with you and me as well. So much so, that He gave His only Son to die, that we could approach Him by virtue of His righteousness. God is faithful to reveal things in our lives that keep us from His favor. Our desire to be closer to God is His desire, too. The better you know Him, the more you can trust Him. Even with your life.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I trust in You to reveal the things in me that keep me from You. Help me surrender to Your Spirit with each rebuke, that I may stand before You, confident that I am covered by the righteousness of Your Son, and let me draw nearer to You, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Have a victorious day in the Lord!
