Blessings!
Today’s Promise is 1 Thessalonians 4:16, 17 CJB:
“For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a rousing cry, with a call from one of the ruling angels, and with God’s shofar; those who died united with the Messiah will be the first to rise; then we who are left still alive will be caught up with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air; and thus we will always be with the Lord.”
Devotion:
Since it is the bodies of “those who died united with Messiah” who will rise first to be reunited with their spirits into their glorious new bodies, it stands to reason that “we who are left still alive” have also remained united with Him. Having come through great tribulation, these will not have grown weary of waiting on the Lord, lost hope, or exchanged God’s Kingdom for their own survival. What will Jesus find you busy doing when that trumpet sounds? What will He find you saying, and thinking? Since we don’t know the hour He’s coming back, let us encourage and pray for one another, so that regardless of how things look on earth, we may hold fast to Jesus’ promise. He is coming again.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, please help me to focus on You, in Jesus’ name. Open my spiritual ears and eyes, that I might see what You do and hear what You say in Heaven. Strengthen me by Your Spirit, that I might do and say the same on earth and encourage Your people to do the same. That when You return, You will find me busy at Your work. Amen.
Have a victorious day in the Lord!
Rebecca
