Today’s Promise is 1 John 4:15 NKJV:
“Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.”
Devotion:
It’s all about love. The confession that Jesus is God’s Son doesn’t end with words. The world looks to us to prove that Jesus is who He says He is and that His love has the power to change us. Our testimony of the transforming love of Jesus isn’t in what we say, but how we live. Because, if God truly abides in us and we in Him, we will live to do our Father’s will, speaking the truth in love and loving the unlovable. For that is what Jesus did before us. If we do not submit to the Spirit, allowing our actions prove our words, how will the world know He is God?
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, please, forgive me, in Jesus’ name, for my rebellion, putting my pride before Your will. You are love, Lord, and, as hard as it may be, I bow before You, submitting to Your Spirit, that I may live my confession of faith, and that the world may know You are love. Amen.
