Promise of the Day: One

Plug in the Stove

Blessings!

Today’s Promise is Ephesians 4:4-6 NKJV:

“There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.”

Devotion:

Have you ever really stopped to take in the reality of this promise? Just think about it. God’s very DNA permeates us and everything around us. It’s as if He were an enormous cell and all of creation is contained in that cell. When you hear a bird call, you hear Him sing to you. When the breeze brings the sweet perfume of blossoming flowers and trees, you smell your Father’s cologne. When you drink a cup of cold water on a hot day, it’s Him you drink in. When a newborn wraps his tiny hand around your finger, you feel the hand of God holding on to you. When you look at another human being, you gaze into the eyes of God. The very air we breathe is electric with His presence, if we only stop to take it in.

David knew this (Psalm 139), as did Paul (Romans 8). They knew that nothing can separate us from our Fater. We are never truly alone. Take time each day to stop and soak in His presence, and in time you will begin to hear His very heartbeat. Beating for you!

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I long for Your presence more each day. The more I know You, the more of You I want. Teach me to wait on You, Lord, in Jesus’ name, to hear Your voice, and see Your face. Make me one with You, and by Your Spirit unite us all. Amen.

Have a victorious day in the Lord!
