Promise of the Day: Open Heavens

The Outpouring

Blessings!

Today’s Promise is Deuteronomy 28:12, 13 NKJV:

The Lord  will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow. And the Lord will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you today, and are careful to observe them.”

The Outpouring

Devotion:

I encourage you to read Deuteronomy 28 in its entirety, and meditate on all the blessings God promises to those who obey Him. It’s really amazing. But the most exciting is this promise to open the heavens. This was accomplished at Jesus’ baptism, but so few believers actually experience it. One of the reasons for this is disobedience. Sadly, though many Christians are quick to point out the faults of others, we are slow to recognize, acknowledge, and repent of our own. The key to walking in obedience and accessing His good treasure is the Holy Spirit, and God gives freely to those who ask.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I submit to you completely. If there is anything in me keeping me from Your presence, reveal it to me by Your Holy Spirit, in Jesus’ name, that I may repent and be washed clean. Fill me with Your Spirit, Lord, that I may lead a life that is pleasing to You, and walk with You in an open Heaven. Amen.

Have a victorious day in the Lord!
